
Head Coach Tom Eaton has named his strongest available line up for todays not exactly Mission Impossible but certainly Mission Difficult against an Anselmians side who have won every home game during the 25/26 season. Unfortunately with 3 key backs unavailable and the loss of the talismanic Simon Green during during the Burton game, Port will be without 4 key players but full credit must be given to Prop James Cross who is missing a wedding to make todays starting lineup and back row Dom Sherrate who has changed holiday plans to make the starting lineup today.
Port will be bouyed by their recent win over Anselmians at Headlands Road becoming the first team this season to lower Anselmians colours.
Anselmians are in the play offs virtue of finishing second in the league after losing the fina league game of the season at Champions Huddersfield.
To put a positive slant on things Port are on an unbeatemn run and Annies have lost 2 out of their last 3 games however home advantage will be a big lift for them.
Should Port prevail they will they will then travel to either Harrogate or Alnwick who are in the equivalent North East league where the winner will then travel to the side finishing third botton in National 2 North in a straight shoot out for a place in National 2 next season.
With the ones at Anselmians the bus will be dropping the ones off before a detour is made to drop the second team off at Chester for the final outing in the Nowirul Premier League.
The Beagles have had an outstanding season finishing third in the toughest of leagues where the majority of clubs have first teams in higher divisions the Port's first team.
No game for the 3 's who completed their season last week and in another excellent campaign Mel McCaugheys men have also finished third in their division.
The Mighty 4's are the only side at home today and will complete their league season when they host near neighbours Heaton Moor. KO 3.00pm.
