Stockport RUFC is one of the only clubs in the
whole of the North West of England that runs a ‘Special’ Tag Rugby Squad for
youngsters with severe learning difficulties and/or mobility problems? No
physical contact is involved and our aim is to have fun whilst improving fitness
levels and social interaction skills. We also provide networking opportunities for
carers. Ages of our squad members range from 9 to 32 years. Brothers, sisters
and friends are all welcome in the squad This season we have attended the 3rd
International Special Tag Festival at Worcester Warriors and provided the
guard of honour at Old Trafford England v Argentina match. We have also
enjoyed a summer tour to Matlock Bath. We are looking for other teams to play
against to hone our rugby skills. Is there anyone out there who is prepared to
take on the All Stars, or any budding coaches who would like to extend their
experience? The only guarantee we give is that you will have lots of fun!
