Newly promoted Keswick had a baptism of fire when they visited Stockport Rugby Club for the first time in their history. In a scintillating performance by the home side, 10 tries rained in from them. A single penalty being the only thing to show for the visitor's trip from the Lake District.
The Cumbrians in their first season at this level found the home side in belligerent mood as they secured 5 points with a strong Stockport side led by player coaches Tom Eaton and Tom Mantell being major influences on the clear superiority of the home side.
Half time score was 36-3 following a penalty try and further tries from Mark Davies (who later retired with a broken hand),Dudley Southern, Andy Broadhurst and Rhodri Mayor. Second half tries from Nick Coupland, Keiran Hibbs, Richard West, Rory Austin and a further try from Rhodri Mayor. With conversions Dudley Southern’s total points being 20.
This Saturday brings a more testing home game versus local rivals Wilmslow kick off 3pm .
