Stockport made use of their now familiar friend, the M56 as they faced Wrexham & Mold in a triangular fixture at Mold.
First up were Wrexham where in a 20 minute pitched battle that resembled a typical Stockport v Chester game, only a typical Matty Leach effort could separate the sides with huge credit going to the boys on both sides who tried to move the ball at every opportunity only to be cancelled out by a superb demonstration of tackling, all of it fair but physical.
Next up were the home side Mold who put up spirited resistance but when the dam finally broke Stockport ran in 5 unanswered tries from Joe Harrington, Thomas Williams, Matty Leach & two from Daniel Robinson. Kicker Ben Duckworth then slotted 4 out of 5 conversions however the last quarter of the game totally belonged to the home side who camped on the Stockport line only to be thwarted by a Sheridan & Robinson x 2 tackling masterclass that saw the game end that was far closer than the 33-0 score line showed.
