Where's Finn??

Stockport under 13's trod the well worn path to North Wales in a journey to what almost seems like our second home with the third visit to the Principality in less than 2 months.
The game kicked off under the local laws and Stockport were quickly into their stride with a well taken try for wing Oliver Wakefield that was well converted by scrum half " Bodger Hanson".
The game between the packs was close but Stockport made far better use of the width of the pitch as they constantly stretched the home side out wide.
The second try came midway through the game after good work from the forwards close to the home line saw back row Jake Wilkson the beneficiary of the packs toil when he scored from close range.

Hooker Finn Rode then made the mistake of coming to congratulate Jake for the try only for him to find Bodger was off the field and then got handed the kicking tee, the result of Finn's attempt would make a good "what happened next" on Question of Sport!

The last score for Port came from that man Wakefield again who whilst deputising at 10 still managed to run round everyone for another superb solo effort. With Finn hiding in the bushes the kicking tee went to William Kalton-Morris who nonchalantly slotted the ball over for a commanding 19-0 lead.

The last score of the day deservedly went to the home side after an extended series of charges at the Stockport line were met with some brilliant defence led by Tom" The Terminator"Neild as the Port boys fought tooth and nail in a desperate attempt to keep the line intact with some tackles which would have seen Messrs Wakefield & Warhurst empty their pockets of cards but as we all know referee Rhys Hellen is such a lovely bloke and those two....well they're not as nice as Rhys end of and he chose only to give penalties rather than cards!
The dam though eventually broke from a scrum on the 5 metre line from which the home 9 scooted over with the last play of the game.

Many thanks to Rhys and the Mold boys for a great mornings rugby and we look forward to them coming over to Stockport soon. It would be difficult to single out a man of the match for Stockport today as the forwards were superb and the backs were even better but If I had to single out anyone it would be second row Cameron Ratchford who considering he is only into his 4th week as a rugby player was simply outstanding as he carried the ball hard, hit more rucks than anyone has a right to and never missed a tackle all day in a perfect preparation for the big Cup game next week against Caldy.
