Stockport RUFC

The women's rugby section launched at Stockport Rugby Club on Friday 14th October 2016, and we have gone from strength to strength. Women's rugby is a fast growing sport, especially with the Rugby Women's World Cup 2025 coming up and we want you to be a part of it.

We are a friendly bunch of ladies ranging from 18-50 years old with many of us travelling past other rugby clubs, just to train at Stockport (yep, we are that great!).

All skills and abilities are welcome, we are currently in NC3 North (South) league, which is a friendly league aimed at having fun and making rugby enjoyable for all, rather than winning (although, wins are always a bonus!).

At Stockport, we do things a little differently: we focus on using games and fun to coach and train, instead of repetitive drills and boring exercises (that's right, we won't make you run around a pitch to warm up!). All our coaches are RFU accredited and have up to date DBS, along with many other qualifications.

Head Coach: Becky Scholes

Currently "Coach Becky", one of the many Beckys on our team, is a PE teacher for a SEN high school and has 10+ years experience of coaching and training. She has her own PT and Sports Coaching company, geared towards helping women achieve their fitness goals.

• Scrum Factory qualified
• DBS checked
• First Aid Trained
• Rugby union achievements: represented England in U20s, played premiership rugby for DMP Sharks, Worcester Warriors and Lichfield.
