15. Organising Tours

Tours
Age groups organise tours each season, and are best managed with a small committee of volunteers…..so parents help and skills is to be called upon. They generally consist of a Saturday activity and a day of rugby on the Sunday at your chosen destination. These are open to both parents and usually family members to attend too. The main aim of the tour is for the children to have fun, along with some rugby on the Sunday, building and extending friendships, plus parents tend to enjoy themselves too! Tour merchandise is usual ordered, maybe a T-shirt or a hoodie which is funded through your age groups.
An assistance pack can be obtained for planning a tour, sample displayed on the Safeguarding notice board, please see Haidee Langtree for an email copy.
The Safeguarding officer needs to be informed of any tour from the planning stage and she will issue the organisers a pack to begin completing.
Note; if travelling out of England, including in the UK, the RFU have to be notified - John Downham. If children’s passports are required for flight bookings, the organiser must have an RFU DBS.
