Stockport M&J Volunteers Handbook 9 of 19

9. First Aid

First Aid
It’s advisable for each age group to have at least two First Aiders. Training is available which you can speak to Hugo Corbett about. First Aid kits are your responsibility, Neil Wakefield can advise on suppliers and funds. Please ensure you have a good stock of instant ice-packs, providing ice isn’t the responsibility of the bar/clubhouse staff. In cases where an ambulance has to be called, the club provides a “waiting for an ambulance” pack. This contains items to keep the patient warm and dry. It is stored in the kit room, clearly labelled. Once this has been used, it is your responsibility to replenish the pack. Our Defibrillator is located on the lower level, under the main clubhouse large window. The club does offer the facility of an in-house physio for player treatment; this is offered on Thursday evenings from 5.30 – 6.30 by appointment only, booked via tonykirkham@me.com. The child’s parent/carer MUST be present or the treatment can not go ahead.
